Common Questions

Before you book

The things people ask us on the phone, answered up front.

Do I need an appointment, or can I just turn up?

Book if you can. We keep the schedule tight so cars aren't sitting around waiting on a lift, which means walk-ins usually end up leaving the car with us. If it's an emergency, call first and we'll tell you honestly whether we can look at it today.

How far in advance should I book a turbo installation?

A week or two for a bolt-on kit. Custom work involving fabrication needs longer, because we order and test-fit parts before your car takes up a bay. Diagnostics and maintenance can usually be fitted within a few days.

Will a turbo or tune void my manufacturer warranty?

It can. A manufacturer can deny a warranty claim if they can show the modification caused the failure. We'll tell you exactly what a given build affects before you commit, and we keep records of what was done so you have documentation either way.

Can I supply my own parts?

Yes, and plenty of customers do. We'll fit customer-supplied parts, but we can't warranty the part itself, and labour to refit one that fails is chargeable. We'll always tell you before ordering if we think a part is the wrong choice for your goal.

How long does an engine swap take?

Two to five days for a well-documented swap where the parts are in hand. Longer if it involves custom mounts, a standalone harness, or machine work. You'll get a realistic timeline in writing after we've inspected the car, not a guess over the phone.

Do you tune cars you didn't build?

Yes. We'll want to inspect the existing setup first — fuel system, boost control, and any prior calibration — because tuning around someone else's mistakes is how engines get hurt. That inspection is usually an hour.

What does a diagnostic appointment cost me if you find nothing?

You still pay for the hour, and you still leave with a written report of what was ruled out. That report is worth having: it's what stops the next shop charging you to check the same things again.

Can I drop the car off outside business hours?

Call ahead and we'll arrange a key handover. We have secured indoor storage, so cars waiting on parts aren't sitting outside.
